Academic & professional background

Qualified Nurse, Integrative Counsellor and Mentor.

I am a qualified Nurse, Integrative Counsellor and Mentor, working within an integrative counselling framework. I believe that every person is unique, with their own experiences, values, needs and goals. My approach is therefore tailored to the individual, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to support each person in a way that feels appropriate and meaningful to them.

My integrative practice incorporates elements of Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Solution-Focused, Existential and Gestalt approaches. I work collaboratively with clients, recognising that different approaches may be helpful at different stages of their journey. The therapeutic relationship is central to my practice, and I aim to provide a safe, compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted.

My background in nursing also supports my holistic approach, allowing me to consider the whole person and the connection between emotional, psychological, physical, social and spiritual wellbeing. I draw on my professional experience to support individuals with compassion, understanding and respect for their unique circumstances.

Continuing professional development

I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly undertake CPD training to strengthen my knowledge and skills in areas including:

Anxiety disorders

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Mindfulness

Relationship difficulties

Diversity, race and cultural awareness

Spirituality

I work in alignment with the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring that my practice is safe, ethical, professional and grounded in integrity. I am committed to maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, respecting confidentiality and promoting the dignity, autonomy and wellbeing of every client.

Inclusivity and respect are at the heart of my practice. I welcome people from diverse backgrounds and value each person’s individual identity, culture, beliefs, values and lived experience. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where you can be yourself without judgement and where your voice and choices are respected.

My aim is to work alongside you, rather than tell you what you should do. Through an integrative and collaborative approach, I support you to explore your experiences, develop greater self-awareness, recognise your strengths and work towards meaningful and sustainable change.

You do not have to navigate everything alone. I am here to listen, understand and support you on your journey.
